If you do venture into Dinan, with its amazing market every Thursday morning, you can explore the historic town still surrounded by large sections of its medieval city walls, with buildings dating back to the 13th century.
Major historical attractions include the Jacobins Theatre dating from 1224, the flamboyant Gothic St Malo’s Church, the Romanesque St Saviour’s Basilica,
Duchess Anne’s Tower and the Château de Dinan.
The old town of St Malo’s with its historic cobbled streets and ferry port. Trips can be taken at low tide to its two little islands near by. One is the Vauban-built Fort National and on the other is the tomb of the politician/writer Chateaubriand, who was born in St Malo in 1768. Seethe ports historic walls, gates, and bastion which were started in 1100’s and run for 1.75 kilometres around the port and town. Visit the shops and cafes.
